What is Dogecoin?
Dogecoin started in 2013 as a joke based on a popular Shiba Inu meme, but the joke turned into one of the best known cryptocurrencies on earth. It works much like Bitcoin under the hood, though with faster blocks and no cap on supply, since about five billion new coins are issued every year. That endless supply makes it more of a tipping and payments coin than a store of value. Its price moves heavily on social media buzz and celebrity attention, especially from Elon Musk, so treat it as entertainment money.
