What is Tether?
Tether is a stablecoin, which means it is designed to hold a steady value of one United States dollar per token. The company behind it says each token is backed by reserves such as cash and short term Treasury bills. Traders use Tether to move money between exchanges quickly and to park funds without leaving the crypto market. It is consistently the most traded cryptocurrency in the world by volume. Critics have questioned the transparency of its reserves over the years, so remember that a stablecoin is only as solid as whatever backs it.
Crypto is volatile. Prices on this page can move 10 percent or more in a single day, and entire projects can fail outright. Nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell any digital asset. Only invest money you can truly afford to lose.
